Hello! My name is Marsheela Walters, and I'm the owner of Initially Blessed in Jena, Louisiana.

Initially Blessed began in 2012 as a night and weekend home-based jewelry and glass-etching business, and, as I now know, it was begun in preparation for my second career as a small-business owner.

In 2014, at the end of my 35 years in Education, most of which I taught high school Business, I retired. Five months later, through a series of circumstances which I believe were led by God, I opened my little brick and mortar shop on Pine Street in Jena. Then in May 2017, God opened up another door (!), and I moved the shop around the corner to a much larger historic building located at 3275 North 1st Street (Highway 127 North) in Jena!!

At Initially Blessed, we offer many one-of-a-kind, handmade, and personalized gift items. Some of these include jewelry, cutting boards, etched glass, license plates, wooden signs, pillows, and many other items that make thoughtful gifts and home decor. Jane Marie, Corkcicle, Imperfect Dust, Antique Candle Co, and Musee Bath are also brands available at Initially Blessed. We are also a Dixie Belle Paint Retailer!
